    Assumptions & notes

Estimate only Figures follow the Sri Lanka IRD 2025/26 APIT Table 01 for monthly regular employment income. Your payslip may differ.

    • First LKR 150,000 a month (LKR 1.8M a year) is tax-free relief.
    • Then 6%, 18%, 24% and 30% on successive slices, and 36% on income above LKR 358,333 a month.
    • APIT is applied to your full gross salary. Employee EPF is not deducted before tax.
    • EPF-liable earnings can include more than basic salary depending on your employer. Use the “EPF on gross” switch to compare.
    • “From take-home” works backwards: it finds the smallest gross, to the cent, whose take-home reaches the amount you enter.
    • Employer EPF (12%) and ETF (3%) are paid on top of your salary and never reduce your take-home pay.
    • Bonuses, arrears, benefits in kind and lump-sum payments use different APIT tables and are not included.

Confirm your taxable employment income and the applicable table with your HR or payroll team, or with the IRD.
